CURE Panel: Education in the New Administration

There will be a Senate Committee meeting today to vote to confirm education advocate Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education. On Tuesday, January 17th, CURE held a panel with President Star Parker, Executive Vice President Rev. Derek McCoy, and American Enterprise Scholar Gerard Robinson to highlight the need for choices for parents and opportunities for children.

DeVos is well-known for her passionate approach to education reform and is a staunch advocate for parental choice. DeVos' uncompromising stance has put her at odds with critics like Senator Elizabeth Warren (who previously supported parental choice) and former vice presidential candidate Senator Tim Kaine.
With DeVos' nomination, President Donald Trump is making it clear that reform will be a priority under his administration. Unfortunately, groups like the NAACP and Barack Obama have stood in the way of progress and have supported and pushed legislation that would stop its growth. CURE supports parental choice and we stand with President Trump's Secretary of Education Nominee Betsy DeVos.
We hope that the Senate will not delay and vote her in!
